PBS focuses on understanding the reasons behind behaviours and the understanding that all behaviour is communication that can be addressed in a constructive manner. Our experienced clinicians work closely with you and your support team to develop tailored strategies that enhance your quality of life and promote independence – through teaching new skills and making changes in your environment.
We offer PBS via face-to-face or telehealth appointments or a combination of both modes. Face-to-face appointments are available in locations across Western NSW, the Murrumbidgee, North East Victoria and the ACT, and telehealth all throughout Australia.
Who is PBS for?
PBS is for adults and children with disability, who have challenging behaviours. Our clinicians work with you and your support team to better understand the factors which can lead to challenging behaviours and then recommend and implement strategies within a Behaviour Support Plan.
We use this plan to train your support team and ensure a consistent delivery of support and services. The plans may cover:
- Preventative and proactive strategies to improve your quality of life
- Changes to your environment to reduce challenges
- Stress and anger management strategies and training
Our goal is to give our clients a toolkit of strategies to improve their quality of life, making a positive impact on their relationships and independence.
How do I access the service?
You can access the service as follows:
- If you are currently on the NDIS and have improved relationships funding allocated in your NDIS plan
- If you are currently on the NDIS, but do not have the improved relationships funding available, your support coordinator or NDIS contact can request it in your next plan
- If you are a non-NDIS participant, fee for service options are available – email us to find out more
