Marathon Health takes out top honours at Business NSW State Awards
Marathon Health was among the state’s most innovative and forward thinking businesses that were celebrated at the NSW State Business Awards Wednesday 30 November. The state’s peak business organisation, Business NSW, honoured winners from all over the state at a black-tie event at Sydney’s International Convention Centre on Wednesday evening.
Marathon Health took out one of the top honours, winning the Outstanding Community Organisation Award.
The Outstanding Community Organisation Award recognises an organisation that works to improve the social, cultural or environmental wellbeing of the community.
Business NSW, Regional Director – Western NSW, Vicki Seccombe said this win was incredibly exciting for Marathon Health, the region and the communities they assist.
“Marathon Health has gone above and beyond in respect to innovation, sustainability and leadership. Their clarity in understanding the drivers of their organisation is outstanding and their ability to think outside the square when it comes to building and retaining their workforce is second to none,” said Ms Seccombe.
“This is Marathon Health’s second win at the State Business Awards, having won Employer of Choice in 2017. They should feel incredibly proud to be named amongst the State’s leading businesses and organisations for 2024 and this win truly highlights the strength of the Western NSW business community,” said Ms Seccombe.
The recognition highlights the organisations commitment to striving to do more to improve the health and wellbeing of rural NSW by delivering high quality healthcare services to people living in rural communities.
Megan Callinan, CEO, Marathon Health said receiving the Award was a huge honour and testament to the work the whole Marathon Health team do every day to increase access to quality services and improve health and wellbeing across regional NSW.
“Marathon Health exists to address the inequity of access of health care services for people living in rural communities,” Ms Callinan said.
“The 300 plus staff who form our remarkable team are so deserving of this award. Together they are debunking the myth that you can’t attract a skilled health workforce in rural NSW and their passion and dedication make Marathon Health a truly great place to work.”
