Do you want to support the health and wellbeing of young people in your mob? Do you want to make real change in your community? This is the role for you!

We have an opportunity for a First Nations person to join our team in Nyngan, NSW. This role is permanent and will work Full Time, 75 hours per fortnight.

As an Aboriginal Youth Wellbeing Worker, you will:

  • Promote help-seeking behaviours and improve mental health literacy in your community
  • Provide friendly and culturally informed service navigation and referrals to young people (12-25 years)
  • Engage the community through health promotion activities that aim to support physical, economic, social and emotional wellbeing.

What experience do I need?

  • Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander (this is a genuine occupational requirement for this role)
  • Vocational qualification in Mental Health, Primary Health, Community Services or related field
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills that demonstrate integrity and initiative
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, and excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a productive team member
  • Good computer skills with experience using the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid Australian Drivers Licence and a willingness to travel for work purposes
